Q: Are you open on Sundays?
A: Yes, we’re open 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sundays year round
Q: How do I learn to fly fish?
A: We’ve been teaching fly fishing to customers for over 22 years. Click here to see the options we offer.
Q: Do you handle Barbour jacket repair and reproofing and how long will it take?
A: Yes, please bring your Barbour jacket into the shop and we will ship it to Barbour for you. Once they receive and review what needs to be done, they will provide a quote that you need to approve before work begins. We will contact you with the quote and you can decide what you’d like done. D&H unfortunately can’t quote how long it will take. It depends on the time of year, the number of jackets that come before yours and the amount of work that needs to be done. We recommend that you bring it in the spring or summer to ensure you’ve allotted enough time to have it ready to wear by fall/winter.
Q: What if I have a jacket other than Barbour to reproof?
A: If you have a Filson jacket, they are now providing a reproofing service. If it’s another non-Barbour jacket, you can use the Barbour wax that we sell which you’ll need to reproof on your own.
Q: What type of fly rod should I buy?
A: All the D&H guys are experienced fly anglers and fish a lot, sometimes a couple times a week. They can guide you as to which fly rod is best for you. D&H carries six brands – Thomas & Thomas, Sage, Winston, St. Croix and Scott. You can take any rods out with one of the D&H guys to cast them and select the one that works best for you.
